Men's Ministry

The men’s ministry at the Good Shepherd Church of the Nazarene seeks to fulfill our church’s mission of bringing Christ to people and people to Christ. We do that by uniting men of all ages in realizing what it means to be a true Christian man and devoted follower of Jesus Christ. Our relationship with our families, friends, communities, and places of employment is enriched through biblical principles and the example of Jesus Christ.

The men of our church encourage each other and new comers through various activities:

  • We meet once a month for dinner, sometimes at the church and sometimes at a local restaurant. These evenings are a good time of laughter and camaraderie while at the same time looking at issues that affect men’s lives.
  • We take opportunities to get together for prayer, Bible study, and to support each other in times of need and to share in times of victory.
  • We go to men’s ministry events such as Promise Keepers and Iron Sharpens Iron.
  • We have a wide variety of interests including outdoor activities, sports (both doing and watching), NASCAR, gardening, and more. We are eager to share these things with each other and newcomers.
  • We take part in work projects at the church, in the community, through Habitat for Humanity, and in the Upstate New York Nazarene District.

As followers of Jesus Christ we are all brothers in Christ. When you walk through the doors of the Good Shepherd Church of the Nazarene in Keeseville, NY, you are welcomed home.

Recent Events
The men had some great soup on our last Men's Night. Ed made a delicious vegetable soup. He was going to make a road kill stew but all the road kill had been gleaned from the roads up there around Harkness so there was just vegetables, very tasty. Tony made chicken soup. He said he had to chase the chicken around for a hour or two before catching it. The chicken's idea of a good evening was different from Tony's idea of a good evening. Other guys brought bread, desert, and drinks. We had more bread than what was left over after Jesus fed the five thousand. George forgot the camera so there are no pictures.
